Certifications extend product range

erbia will present its latest organic food products at BioFach (Nuremberg, February 16-19). A third time exhibitor, Serbia’s national pavilion represents nine companies. Products for 2006 include organic berries, forest fruits, seed oils and butters, mushrooms, grains, and pumpkin oil.
Already a major supplier of fruit products to European markets, Serbia is now gaining recognition for certified organics. Growers and processors are expanding production, introducing new varieties, and implementing quality control procedures such as HACCP, EurepGAP, and ISO.
ompanies exhibiting in the Serbian pavilion are: BMD, Agros Opovo, Agokula, Suncokret, Atle, Mediteran 92, Sirogojno, ML Fruit and Donimpex.
- Atle will offer organically grown raspberries and strawberries; Mediteran 92 organic berries and plums and Donimpex their organic dried sour cherries
- ML Fruit will offer their organically grown raspberries and blueberries in retail packaging, Sirogojno will present their frozen fruits (IQF and crumble) program, while BMD will present their line of organic wild berries and mushrooms.
- Agros Opovo will offer organic pumpkin, white wheat, durum hard wheat, sunflower, soy bean and sweat corn crops; Agrokula will present their organic pumpkin seeds and cold-pressed organic pumpkin seed oil.
- Suncokret will offer cold-pressed unrefined organic pumpkin seed oil, cold pressed unrefined organic sunflower oil, and sesame and flax seed oils.
