Superfruit from Serbia at Gulfood
 erbian companies plan to make a real splash this year at Gulfood with red raspberries, Serbia's best selling superfruit.
 Raspberries are one of the healthiest fruits available, packed full with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber. They rank near the top of all fruits for antioxidant strength particularly due to their dense contents of ellagic acid. Antioxidants can help prevent heart disease and cancer, reduce blood pressure and slow the effects of aging. These naturally occurring compounds protect the body from harmful, excess free radicals, sweeping them up before they can cause damage.
Serbian raspberries are fragrantly sweet, with refreshingly tart subtle overtone. They freeze well making them ideal for dairy, bakery and confectionery industry. Thanks to preserved nature, high quality of varieties and excellent climate Serbia supplies one third of the world's trade in raspberries.
Every day, at the Serbian pavilion at GULFOOD you will have an opportunity to try refreshing raspberry smoothies prepared for Serbian companies by Booster Juice. Exceptional fruit products, confections, coffees and exclusive wild mushrooms will also be on display.
Serbian companies have made more than four million Euros in sales in 2007 at Gulfood.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia in coordination with SIEPA (Serbia Investment & Export Promotion Agency) have assisted Serbian producers in presenting their products at GULFOOD, with the support from the USAID Agribusiness Project.
