In 2005, Serbia’s fruit yield increased 24.4 percent over the previous year, according to figures released by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS).

Exports of frozen fruit increased to 140,000 tons, with combined revenues from fruit and vegetable exports of USD 262 million.

According to Milan Prostran, head of the agricultural association of the PKS, revenues from fruit and vegetable exports are expected to reach USD 300 million annually.

Serbia will present its latest organic food products at BioFach (Nuremberg, February 16-19). A third time exhibitor, Serbia’s national pavilion represents nine companies. Products for 2006 include organic berries, forest fruits, seed oils and butters, mushrooms, grains, and pumpkin oil.
